Information we collect
Information you give us. When you complete a contact or consultation form, join our email list, or reach out to us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, the general reason for your inquiry, and anything you choose to include in a message. Our forms are designed not to request clinical or health information, and we ask that you not include any.
Information collected automatically. When you browse, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring links, and general usage data, through cookies and similar technologies.
Comments. If commenting is enabled and you leave a comment, we collect the data shown in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service to check whether you use it; the Gravatar privacy policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After a comment is approved, your profile picture is visible with your comment.
Media. If you upload images to the Site, avoid images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS), since visitors can download and extract that data.
Email and SMS communications
If you opt in, we may send email updates, offers, and general wellness information. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out anytime. We use a third-party email platform to manage these communications and keep our list accurate and deliverable.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in and consent are never shared with any third party.
Cookies
If commenting is enabled and you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for your convenience; these last one year. If you visit the login page we set a temporary cookie to test whether your browser accepts cookies (no personal data, discarded on close). When you log in we set cookies to save your login and screen choices; login cookies last two days (two weeks with “Remember Me”), screen-option cookies last a year. Editing or publishing an article sets an additional cookie noting the post ID, which expires after one day. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We honor recognized browser opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other sites behaves exactly as if you visited that site, and those sites may collect data about you, set cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content, including if you are logged in to them.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of it (we do not sell or share it as defined), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any right, contact support@mdtw.co or 714-671-2005; we will verify your request first, and you may use an authorized agent. Information held as part of your medical record is governed by HIPAA and California’s CMIA, not this policy.
